Rafa Nadal and the Spanish Davis Cup team have been some of the protagonists of the experiences of live Virtual Reality 360 sports broadcasts that will be examined at the VR Observatory, which will be held in Malaga on 18 and 19 July.

“VR broadcasting in sport” will be the presentation in which Miguel Ángel Martínez, YBVR’s Business Development Manager, will share with the audience the challenges posed by this type of broadcasting, some present and future solutions and YBVR’s experience in various sporting events.

During the OVR18, YBVR will offer a demo of how you can watch a game of tennis with Virtual Reality in high definition, from the edge of the court, living the experience of being virtually on the court, following the excitement of the game. All this, without losing a detail of the close-up TV shots and the evolution of the result, giving the spectators the option to choose the camera from which the game is to be watched, changing instantly and without losing a second of the game.

YBVR has been recording Rafa Nadal and other top level tennis players with 8k cameras, and the high quality images have been played live with high resolution glasses currently available on the market.

The use of the cameras, the enrichment of the image with game statistics, the overlayed images, the challenge of the live production of VR video and the distribution of high definition signals by internet and other platforms, will be some of the topics that Miguel Ángel Martínez will address in this keynote.

The VR Observatory is the main multidisciplinary event held annually in Spain on Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality, 360, eSports, Video Games, Serious Games, etc.

On the agenda of this second edition of the OVR are already confirmed speakers from NASA, the University of Cambridge, NOKIA and other leading companies that are committed to these new technologies.
